Fundraising Strategy

The Challenge

BHF were encountering a number of key challenges from increased competition and slow growth, along with inconsistently delivery of products. They required a new strategy for their Fundraising department to meet these challenges.

The Engagement

Headadvisory worked with the BHF Fundraising leadership team to design and deliver an ambitious new strategy with workstreams covering people and culture, process and structure and data and insight. Specific support included:

  • Data and insight enhancement
  • Process improvement and structural review
  • Product portfolio review and refinement
  • Culture and ways of working review and refinement including the design of training courses in Data Analysis and Evaluation.

The Result

  • Programme designed and delivered to time and on budget.
  • Quick wins identified and acted upon including data and insight enhancements.
  • Identification of a revised structure including > £4m investment in new capacity.
  • Bespoke training programme for fundraisers to enhance capability.
“They have a unique combination of being able to recognise and truly buy into the fact that change requires more than just strategy and theorising, but an attention to people and the organisation being fully involved in the programme so that they can really own it."
